How to play
Drag backward from the object on your desk and release to flick it across the office and into the wastepaper bin. The drag angle sets your direction and the drag distance sets your power — a short dotted arc gives you a hint of where the throw is heading.
Every miss makes noise, and noise fills the Wake Meter at the top of the screen. Light objects like crumpled paper are nearly silent but only score 10 points; a stapler scores 250 but will jolt the meter badly if it clatters onto the floor. If the meter hits 100%, the boss wakes up and your run is over.
Tips for a high score
- Watch the fan. It shifts every throw at higher scores, and light objects drift hard with the airflow.
- The filing cabinet is taller than the bin — lob over it, or bounce off it on purpose for a BANK SHOT +100.
- Land dead-centre for a PERFECT bonus worth 50% extra.
- Chain hits: two in a row is x1.2, five is x2, ten is x3. Protect a streak with paper before risking the mug.
- Let the Wake Meter cool down between loud throws — it drops about 1% every two seconds.
About the game
Don't Wake the Boss is a free single-screen physics arcade game in the spirit of classic office time-wasters like Paper Toss. It runs entirely in your browser on desktop and mobile — no download, no sign-up, and your best score is saved on your device. Five throwable objects unlock as you score: paper, a paper cup, a soda can, a coffee mug and the high-risk stapler. The office gets harder as you go, with stronger airflow, a shifting fan, a wandering bin and new obstacles.
